Joan has been teaching since 1996, starting during graduate school at RISD. Her deep love of materials, curiosity for new techniques, and enthusiasm for exploration is evident in both her work and her affect on her students. In her studio workshops and classes, Joan hopes that those deep into their art-making and those just beginning their journey feel empowered and excited to dig in and express their moment.
